About DON DARO

"IT WAS ONLY NATURAL FOR A KID WHO GREW UP WITH ROCK AND ROLL TO BECOME A DISC JOCKEY." Don Daro

By the time he first heard Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" in the summer of '54 Don already had the 'music bug'. After a stint in the Navy, a little more college and a crash course at a Hollywood Radio School, he was ready.

In 1965 when "Boss Radio" began at KHJ/Los Angeles, Don was already starting his broadcasting career at another of the city's legendary TOP 40 stations, KRLA. At the time, it was home to some of the greatest deejays in history: Emperor Hudson, Bob Eubanks, Casey Kasem, Dave Hull and Dick Biondi?

In the winter of '66 Don was part of a team that tried to introduce TOP 40 to FM a decade before it took off. On the air at 11 stations in the Southwest he performed nearly every aspect of radio including operations manager at a #1 station in Phoenix.

As program manager, music director and even engineer he honed his skills through the years. He conducted his first station "turnaround" at the age of 27.

His extensive knowledge of recorded music has never really been heralded. And unbeknown to most, he maintains up to date, one of the largest private record libraries in the world. It encompasses 5,000 shellac 78s, over 400,000 singles and thousands of LPs.

Over the years he's introduced on stage and become friends with some of the biggest names in entertainment. Before anyone had broadband, DSL, cable modem or any type of "high speed" connection, Don was doing a daily, LIVE, Music, TV show on the Internet with 12 different co-hosts. Today Don is working on getting a new comedy show on network television.
